Craigavon Presbyterian Church
New Family
THE MARSHALL FAMILY

We first came to Craigavon Presbyterian Church in 1999.  and as I lived in Monaghan and attended
Ballyalbany Presbyterian Church each week, I was involved in Sunday School etc. Going to church was an
important aspect of my life therefore as I was getting married and moving to Portadown, Peter and I
wanted to find a church where we could be part of God’s family and grow in our faith. We started going to
CPC in 2000 after getting married, I remember the first time I went to the church I thought to myself that
the people were very friendly and their was a lovely atmosphere in the church. We both decided this would
be the church for us. Then in 2001 we had our first child dedicated in the church, it was a lovely service.
In 2003 we had our second child and then started to go to Mums & Tots each week, which I thoroughly
enjoyed, so did the children. As a family we have settled into the church really well and enjoy going to
various activities, The boys go to Boys Brigade every Monday night. Peter is a leader in the Boys Brigade,
and helps organise Men’s Fellowship outings. I help with Mums and Tots and am a part of the praise
group. Peter had the opportunity to give his testimony at a Youth Service which was a privilege to share
with others the wonderful work that God can do in people lives. It was very nerve wrecking though! Last
year we went on the church weekend, which really helped us to get to know more people, it was a fabulous
weekend and everyone made us and the kids welcome. We feel that God wants us as a family in the church
and it’s a great blessing to get involved and watch the church family grow together spiritually.
